SOLO ACOUSTIC
For a long time, the solo gig was just my acoustic guitar, my voice and a huge songlist. In recent times it has evolved to include an octave pedal and a looper, and I'm having a lot of fun with that. The songlist is still mostly classic rock, with some choice modern tunes as well.

I do a lot of acoustic gigs with Elena Martin, an amazing singer from Baltimore bands such as KAOS and The Buzz. She can sing just about anything, and does it all very well. Working with her takes the acoustic
gig to a whole 'nother level.

BEN SHERMAN'S JAZZ THING
I am once again venturing into the world of funky rockin' instrumental jazz fusion. This time around, I am working with the incredible talents of Gary Gilpin on keys, Mike Kanter on drums and Jay Dulaney on bass. I am a trained classical guitarist, and look forward to opportunities to perform in this style. A typical performance may include classical, Spanish, pop and even jazz.
FLUTE AND GUITAR DUO
With flutist Marlee Lindon of Glenwood, MD. Marlee has a Master's degree in Flute performance, and together we have developed a challenging repertoire including our own arrangements of Debussy, Vivaldi and others.

TEACHING
I have been teaching private guitar lessons for over 20 years at Coffey Music in Westminster MD. Interest in guitar is greater than ever, and I am pleased to be helping
a new generation of guitarists reach their
highest potential.
I teach all levels and all styles. My goal is to inspire students to strive for excellence, have fun, and discover the power of music to express ones' self and connect with people. I am currently writing my first guitar instruction book, to introduce a wider audience to my ideas about the essential things guitar players should know.
